North Star understand the importance and value of investing in the future and what better way to do this than by investing in home grown talent through apprenticeship schemes. With this in mind we have taken on two new local apprentices who are both being trained in their respective trades though local college training schemes as well as gaining valuable site experience by working with our skilled and dedicated workforce at the same time. Callum Hindle is doing his Plant Apprenticeship at Preston College and Joe Kelly has chosen an alternative career path and is training to be a Shuttering Joiner. Both Callum and Joe will both be qualified to NVQ Level 2 in the next 18 months.
North Star has recently employed a new member of staff to help service the insolvency and facilities management division. Philip has over 15 years’ experience in the industry and we welcome him into our business. The Facilities Management division has also recently been awarded a preferred supplier status with Oystons Property Management and we look forward to a successful partnership going forward.
Works carried out by North Stars Facility Management Division include the following: Regular void property inspections, lock changes, insurance compliant works from complete drain downs to remote alarm installations, security boarding and property protection, property clearances as well as traditional building maintenance type work such as plumbing, electrical and joinery requirements through to roofing works and full property refurbishment projects. In the last 3 months North Star has invested heavily in it’s owned transport fleet and introduced six new vehicles across the company as a whole. These are vital in enabling our workforce to arrive safely and economically to all our projects throughout the UK and are an essential piece of the jigsaw. Our fleet of vehicles also represent and highlight our company branding and image whilst out on the roads.
